In September, the Lamoille Equity Team (L.E.T.), in partnership with UVM Medical Center’s “More Than Hair Equity Project,” hosted a two-part event uplifting the beauty of textured hair.

Over 75 participants ages 3–72 joined, 85% identifying as People of Color, for workshops, braids, cuts, and community connection. With local stylists, barbers, and families from across Lamoille County, the event highlighted learning, cultural pride, and belonging — 55% of attendees said they came for “all of the above!”
